godliteratury.ruVladimir Vysotsky would have turned 80 years today, on January 25, TASS reports. Anniversary of the legendary actor, poet and singer will be celebrated all over the county. Multitude of concerts, exhibitions, performances will be organized on this date.

The central ground for celebrations is The V. S. Vysotsky’s House on Taganka. Today the entrance is free. Vysotsky’s fans will enjoy the theatre performance Good Afternoon, Vladimir Vysotsky! directed by the museum’s head Nikita Vysotsky. Until the end of this month, Exhibition titled I will come back, of course… will be opened. Among exhibited items are portraits of Vysotsky and other works related to him. There will be a final stage of the contest I love, which means I live with participation of young poets.

Note that the day before Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the museum who proposed to conduct contest of young singers performing their own compositions in honor of Vladimir Vysotsky.

Project Vysotsky in our City will start in two days in Nizhnekamsk. The performances of the project are scheduled in Saratov, Krasnodar and Rosov-on-Don as well.

A commemorative plate is unveiled in Tula in honor of the great poet. The plate is set on the Palace of Culture of Machinery factory in Tula, where Vladimir Vysotsky performed in the middle of 60s on a road tour. Bank of Russia has issued a silver coin of 25 rubles.

The events dedicated to the anniversary of Vysotsky are conducted in Russia and beyond, where a great number of his devotees reside. The Week of Vysotsky was opened at the Baltics International Academy with support of Russian Center on January 20. Songs were performed at the concert in the honor of the prominent poet and singer. Gala concert I have something to sing… will take place in the nearest Saturday in the Big Hall of Tbilisi State Academic Russian Drama Theatre named after A. S. Griboyedov. The concerts and meetings will take place in France, Poland, USA and other countries.
