19.01.2018

Sergey Bobulev/TASSThe second competition day of the ISU European Championships has completed with Russian figure pair skaters' triumph, according to TASS. Russian athletes won all the prizes.

Following the results of the short program the pair from France Vanessa James and Morgan Cipres were leading, and future golden finalists Eugenia Tarasova and Aleksandr Morozov were only at the fifth line of the tournament table. However, during the Free Skating James made some crucial errors on jumps to drop to fourth as Russian athletes swept the podium.

Eugenia Tarasova and Aleksandr Morozov have received the gold and hence became two-time world champions. Ksenia Stolbova and Fedor Klimov received the silver, and Natalia Zabiiako and Aleksander Enbert took the third place. Nina Mozer coaches all three Russian pair skaters.

Vanessa James had tears in her eyes, loosing the third place with 0.1 margin. “We had to be absolutely perfect to beat the Russians,” she commented.
