Chinese are looking forward to seeing Alexandrov Ensemble

Alexandrov Ensemble starts their tour in China today, January the 4th, reports TASS. The Chinese audience will see the Russian performers at the main stage in Beijing, the Performing Art Center.

According to the art-director Gennady Sachenyk they will sing Russian folk songs and the WW2 songs, including the famous Kalinka, the song the ensemble is recognized by. Besides, there are some contemporary songs in the program.

"We have some interesting covers of foreign singers and bands. Each of them is written specially for the ensemble and is designed for the male part of it," added the art-director.

Besides, the musicians are true to their tradition to sing in the language of the country they are visiting. Gennady Sachenyk shared there are many Chinese songs in the ensemble's repertoire, and Chinese adore the musicians. Hence, they feel very happy to come back to China and look forward performing for the local audience.

The Ensemble is visiting China in full assembly including the chorus, the orchestra, the ballet and the singers.
