The first flight happened the day before. Almost a hundred people flew to Norilsk. The new terminal occupies almost sixty thousand square meters. Its capacity per year is almost five million people.

People evaluated the changes very positively. Some passengers have noted that such a high level of services can be rarely met even in the European countries. Besides, they were very optimistic about airport navigation calling it very simple and easy to understand and the number of registration counters, which are twenty-six in total at the airport. Unfortunately, documents for tele stairs have not been ready for the opening of the airport, so travelers are transported on board of planes by buses, but the airport workers have promised that the situation will change in a month already.

Luggage detection gateways are equipped with modern facilities. The system consists of five different levels of detection and can scan around one and a half thousand bags at peak hours. Luggage assortment is also automatic.

The conception of the airport is the Yenisei River. The airport entrance is decorated with a boat with a logo: Children of One River. Yenisei Siberia is a huge continent where the Grand River flows to the boundless ocean, the inscription on the boat’s side reads.
The regional population is sure that a new airport will enable to attract business and investments into Krasnoyarsk. Krasnoyarsk may turn into a large transit point in communications with South-East Asia, which means growth of passengers and loads.
