Malaysians were dancing around the Christmas tree singing Russian songs

pixabay.comNew Year celebration and film screening was organized in Russian Language courses in Kuala Lumpur, the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Malaysia reports.

Beginners and advanced level students took part in the event. They've listened with great interest an engaging talk on Russian New Year traditions and on two main characters of this principal celebration - Father Frost and his granddaughter Snegurochka. At the end of this presentation Malaysians tried on costumes of two Russian New Year protagonists and made pictures.

There was a small concert in the frames of this event. Vocal studio at the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Malaysia have performed some New Year's songs, followed by dances and traditional round-dance with There is a Tree Spruce in Forest Born song and Russian comedy Spruces screening. The evening concluded with traditional tea-party where guests continued discussion on the Russian New Year traditions.

For over half a century, the estate where she grew up has been home to the museum of Alexander Pushkin. The poet had visited the Tver village of Bernovo more than once.
