21.12.2017

The main Christmas Tree of Russia has been decorated at Sobornaya Square of the Kremlin, TASS reports. Traditionally, the best students of Moscow Suvorov Military school were helping to decorate the tree. They used more than 3500 balls and around a kilometer of various fairy lights to do that.

Adviser and press secretary to chief executive officer of Presidential Affairs of the Russian Federation Elena Krylova has commented that this year the New Year Tree was decorated in the style of Russian Fair using Russian toys which used to be sold on festive fairs at old times. It is noteworthy that all these decorations were produced in Russia according to the special order and taking into account sizes of this particular tree.

The New Year Tree was decorated with 200 Khokhloma spoons, 30 Golden Cockerels, 20 blue horses and 20 golden cracknels. Three thousand Christmas balls were hung on the tree creating a background for the topical decorations. Twenty-six fairy lights will be lit on the tree.

The New Year Tree was brought to the Kremlin Square from Moscow region last Sunday.
