Russians name the most popular people of 2017

Russian Presidential Administration Russians chose President Vladimir Putin as a politician of the year. Around 60% of the respondents preferred Vladimir Putin to the rest of the politicians, following the results of All-Russian poll. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia Vladimir Zhirinovsky (13%), Defence Minister Sergei Shoygu (10%) stay behind Vladimir Putin with a big gap between them. The rest of politicians got less than 10 percent of votes.

Besides, Russian residents voted for Dmitri Hvorostovsky as a singer of the year. Sergei Bezrukov and Konstantin Khabensky became the best actors. There are no obvious favorites among figures of arts where even leaders did not high scores.

Writers’ nomination does not have favorites too. The same number of respondents (2%) voted for Darya Dontsova, Zakhar Prilepin and Boris Akunin

Our compatriots voted for biathlon athlete Anton Shipulin, hockey player Alexander Ovechkin and figure skater Yevgenia Medvedeva in the sports’ nomination.

Salut-7 has become the best movie of 2017 and Let Them Talk has become the most popular TV show.

The main events of the passing year are warfare in Syria, construction of the Crimean Bridge and ban of Russian national team from participation in Winter Olympics.
