12.12.2017

Russian Ministry of EducationRussian schoolchildren have taken six golden medals at International Junior Science Olympiad. The intellectual competition was held in the capital of the Netherlands, according to Federal Ministry of Education. Schoolchildren from almost fifty countries took part in the Olympiad.

All participants from Russia left Amsterdam with awards.

Grigory Bokov from Moscow is the absolute winner in terms of the scores. Two golden medals belong to Ilya Panov and Nikita Chernov correspondingly. They both are studying at one Moscow school. Mikhail Matveyev and Elysey Sudakov from Vologda and Timur Davletbayev from Mordovia won medals of the highest value as well.

Minister of Education Olga Vasilyeva has termed this a brilliant result. In her opinion, this success is yet another proof of the top level of the national scientific school.

The competitions were arranged in three tours: theory, practice and experiments, where participants had to answer questions and solve tasks on chemistry, physics and biology.

Experts note that this Olympiad is very complicated, as teenagers had to demonstrate high level of preparation in three scientific disciplines simultaneously. Young scientists had to work hard and diligently to be successful.
