08.12.2017

New themed train has appeared in Moscow Metro, RIA Novosti reports. It is dedicated to The Russian-British Year of Science and Education.

The train titled Science of Future was run into operation on December 7. It will go round the circle line and the number of its passengers is expected to go beyond two and a half million in six months.

Passengers will get acquainted with scientific projects from both countries; the information about these projects is published on the walls of each carriage. The aim of the project is popularization of science and scientific knowledge. The train has such carriages as Space, Nature, Energy, Medicine, Robots, etc.

According to special representative of the Russian President on Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy, running this train is another important stage in relations between the British Council and Moscow Metro. He has commented that despite all political complications and conflicts in the field of humanitarian, scientific and cultural cooperation, relations of Russia and Great Britain have never been interrupted.

This is the second themed train getting acquainted passengers with UK. Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya (No 3) Line has Shakespearean Passions train dedicated to the British legendary playwright. Its launch was timed with The Cross Year of Language and Literature in Russia and the United Kingdom.

It should be reminded that at the end of October Moscow Metro has run its themed train called The Heart of Russia. The train contains seven carriages decorated in line with separate topics: ballet, fine arts, literature, cinema, architecture, space and science.

This train is launched as a part of The Cross Year of Science and Education of Russia and UK.
