Member of the Committee for Physical Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs Dmitry Svischev has brought up for discussion a bill about impossibility of interference of politicians with the Olympic movement.

The present decree is to be considered by Russian parliament this Friday. It is a reaction to the unprecedented decision of the International Olympic Committee that Russian national team was banned from participating in the 2018 Winter Games in Pyeongchang. The initiator of the project Dmitri Svischev states that deputies will also discuss impossibility of infringement of Olympic principles. Besides, the State Duma is going to confirm its readiness to take harder anti-doping measures. Svischev has commented that a lot has been done in this direction, but the authorities are not going to stop.
It is worth reminding that on December 6, IOC has made decision to disqualify the national team of Russia. Some athletes, who have never been caught in using doping, provided certain conditions, will be allowed to take part in the Olympics under a neutral flag. Russian President Vladimir Putin has mentioned, that authorities are not going to prevent individual sportsmen from taking part in the completions in Pyeongchang.
