Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All-Russia invites young Christians from abroad to study theology in Russia

© Patriarchia.ruYoung Christians from different countries can get a diploma on theology in Russia, Patriarch Kirill believes. He invited young people to come to our country and get education, RIA Novosti informs.

According to Patriarch, Russian Orthodox Church managed to persuade the state institutions and scientific community that theology is a fundamental field of knowledge. He has reminded that theology was registered as a scientific discipline in Russia two years ago. Theology thesis and expert boards were established last year, so since then there is an opportunity to write theses on theological topics.

At present departments of theology are opened in many higher educational institutions in Russia. As per Patriarch, the complex of these measures rises potential of Russian Orthodox Church a lot.

He has added that country’s authorities have acknowledged religious diplomas and it opens multitude of various possibilities.

Patriarch Kirill touched this question during the meeting with leaders of local Orthodox churches in Danilovsk residence. In particular, in the course of his conversation with Metropolitan Savva of Warsaw, Patriarch has added that if somebody from Polish Orthodox Church decided to study in Russia, it would have many advantages.
