Russian Embassy in Athens has put the catalogue together and prepared it for printing, according to Andrey Maslov who shared this information during his speech at the conference of Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots.

He has commented that military memorial council was opened at the Russian Embassy in 2017 and it initiated a large-scale inventory of all military graves. Such large work was conducted for the first time. This catalogue includes mass burial sites as well as individual graves. Diplomat has underlined that all of them are equal from their historical significance point of view.

The catalogue will represent an interactive map.

Immortal Regiment campaign in Athens was the biggest one in Europe. It was supported by local authorities and the Military Department. St. George’s Ribbon campaign was also well organized.

Moscow and Athens will celebrate two anniversaries together next year – twenty-five years’ anniversary of friendship and cooperation agreement signature and one hundred-ninety years’ anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
