First meeting of Youth Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots hosted in London

Flickr/Berit WatkinYouth Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots has started functioning in UK, RIA Novosti informs. The first meeting took place in London at sessions of Russian Community Chambers of Great Britain.

According to the head of organization Oleg Sotnichenko, Youth Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots has become one of the platforms for consolidation of youth and student national structures promoting international cooperation. He has noted that the organization will undertake the function of coordinating all youth movements.

Anastasia Tomm, who heads the new structure, is sure that the council is to help Russian-speaking youth in Great Britain to claim their interests on the international arena. Young people will exchange their knowledge, ideas and own experience with peers from other European countries and Russian regions. Youth Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots is called to resolve many existing issues more efficiently.

One of the first events offered by the council members is participation in the international campaign dedicated to the Volunteer Day. It is worth reminding that this Day is celebrated tomorrow, on December 5.
