The legend of Russian football goalkeeper Lev Yashin is to become the symbol of next year's World Cup, IA Interfax reports.

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) presented the poster with a portrait of the football star of the past. Soviet sportsmen is the only goalkeeper in the history of football who received the Ballon d'Or (the Golden Ball) award.

Games of the tournament to be held in 11 cities. The first game is scheduled for June, 14 2018 at the Luzhniki stadium, Moscow.

Let us remind, teams from 32 countries to participate in 2018 FIFA World Cup. Russia has entered the first group of players as a tournament host, along with German, Brazilian, Portugal, Argentinian, Belgian, Polish, and French teams.

Let us remember, EA Sports FIFA has announced appearance of legendary goalkeeper Lev Yashin in its new version of football simulator FIFA 2018 this summer. The Soviet goalkeeper was included in the list of the world football legends. Apart from Yashin, the ultimate list includes Pele, Diego Maradona, Ronaldo, Thierry Henry and some other world-famous football players.
