Oceanologist Valery Bondur becomes honored member of Chinese Academy of Sciences

Flickr/National Eye InstituteChinese Academy of Sciences has announced names of its new 16 foreign members. The honored first place is occupied by oceanologist Valery Bondur, TASS informs.

Deputy Director of Russian Academy of Sciences has made a great contribution into remote sensing questions, where he discovered a range of phenomena and trends unknown to science before.

Among other Academicians are nine Americans, specializing at different fields of physics, chemistry and sciences studying IT and atmosphere. Besides, the list contains a British expert in Nano-technologies, physicist from the Netherlands, scientists from Poland, Uzbekistan, Sweden and Japan.

Academy of Sciences in China has appeared in the end of the 40ies of the last century. Chinese Academy of Social Sciences was established on its base in the 70ies. Chinese Academy of Sciences includes five divisions, such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, technics and Earth sciences. The organization is actively participating in international scientific programmes and collaborating with foreign experts. Currently, the academy has employed seventy thousand workers. Overall there are seven hundred and thirty members in the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Their honored list is growing year by year.
