The Russian permanent representative in the EU Vladimir Chizhov noted that EU initiative towards six ex-Soviet countries (Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine) might be “exhaled”. The politician has noted that Russian issues and current situation in Ukraine was touched in the course of the summit. Prime Minister of UK Theresa May has appeared yet again with unsubstantial accusations in disrupting the world order but Russia was not mentioned in the outcome document.

Chizhov has stated that Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko has raised Crimean issue and situation on the South-East of the country, but “the outcome document did not include all the corrections the Ukrainian side was trying to make.” According to Russian representative the Summit results might be interpreted as maintaining a Status quo. The resolution has more rhetorics, platitudes and intentions towards six countries than a real content.

An idea of “europeanization” of six ex-Soviet countries stays as more rhetorical issue with propaganda context, according to Vladimir Chizhov.
