Compatriots in Spain celebrate 10th anniversary of Archangel Michael’s Cathedral in Altea

cerkov-ru.euArchangel Michael Cathedral in Altea (Spain) celebrates its 10th anniversary, as per the website of Korsun Eparchy. Cathedral priests served the Divine Liturgy, which ended up with the Cross Procession in honor of the anniversary.
Archbishop Nestor has congratulated Orthodox Christians with the anniversary and wished the congregation health and strength. Then, the Archbishop complemented the founders and congregation for their efforts in taking care of the cathedral and handed commemorative certificates to them. Guests and congregation were invited to the dining table and gala concert. Ensemble of ancient church chanting Purification performed several church chants, which were followed by theater staging Miracles of Archangel Michael performed by children of the parish.

In 2007, Metropolitan of Smolensk and Kaliningrad Kirill (at present – Patriarch of Moscow and All-Russia), Metropolitan Innocentiy Vilensky and Archbishop Nestor of Korsun consecrated the cathedral built at the expense of Botsko family, local Russian community and other Russian compatriots. The cathedral with five golden domes is built of wood following traditions of Russian northern wood carving of 16th - 17th centuries. It is located in one of the most picturesque places of the region.
