International festival dedicated to Sergei Dyagilev starts in St. Petersburg

pixabay.comThe festival is named after famous Russian entrepreneur of the beginning of 20th century Sergei Dyagilev. There will be ballet performances, concerts, exhibitions and conference on Dyagilev. First festival took place in Saint Peteresburg nine years ago. It coincided with 100-years jubilee of Russian Seasons.

The festival to be opened with Mahler's 1st Symphony and Violin Concert by Alban Berg by Perm State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet orchestra MusicAeterna under the baton of Teodor Currentzis. Famous Russian violinist Vadim Repin and dancer Svewtlana also participate in performance.

British choreographer Wayne McGregor has brought balletr Authobiography ballet that will be performed in St. Petersburg State Youth Theatre at the Fontanka Street. Two exhibitions devoted to Russian enterpreneurs and Russian ballet dancers will open in Sheremetev Palace.

Festival program to conclude with performance French troupe Ballet de Lorraine.
