Putin and Trump discuss settling conflicts in Syria and Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin has discussed over the phone present state of affairs in Syria and Eastern Ukraine with US President Donald Trump, the official website of Kremlin reports.

The head of Russia has confirmed his readiness to continue political way of conflict settlement in Syria in accordance with agreements reached earlier between the two countries during OPEC summit in Vietnam. Vladimir Putin has emphasized that settlement of this crisis is possible only by way of negotiations involving all interested parties.

Vladimir Putin has also informed Donald Trump about his talks with Bashar Assad when the Syrian leader confirmed his readiness to conduct constitutional reforms and unscheduled elections. The question about negotiations on Syria with participation of leaders of Iran, Russia and Turkey was touched upon during their phone conversation.

Besides, leaders of the two countries discussed issues of fighting international terrorism. Putin and Trump agreed that intelligence agencies of the two counties should coordinate their actions.

Putin and Trump talked about the state of affairs in southeastern Ukraine. The head of Russia has emphasized again that Minsk agreement does not have an alternative and should be executed.
