Vladimir Putin held negotiations with Bashar Assad in Sochi

Russian Presidential Administration Russian president Vladimir Putin has held negotiations with his counterpart from Syria Bashar Assad, RIA Novosti informs. Their meeting took place in Sochi during Assad’s working visit to Russia.

According to Russian leader, Syrian people are undergoing very hard times, but at the same time, the fall of terrorism is very close. Putin has congratulated his colleague with successful process of fighting terrorists.

I believe, the most important thing now is to turn to politics and I see with satisfaction your readiness to work with everybody who are for peace and conflicts’ resolution, Putin said. He has noted that UN should lead all political processes.

In his turn, Bashar Assad has underlined that in two years after Russian aerospace forces’ operations in Syria, positive changes are evident. These results have been reached in tandem with governmental army. At present, some regions are cleaned off the terrorists and local population return to their homes. Besides, Russian aerospace forces’ operation helped to begin political settlement of the conflict.

Bashar Assad thanked Vladimir Putin on behalf of all Syrian people. He has commented that Syria managed to remain the whole state due to Russia’s support and preserve its territorial integrity and independence.

In the course of the meeting, the politicians discussed principles of Syrian Peoples’ Congress in Sochi. All aspects of the conflict will be presented at the Congress.
