International Cultural Forum-2017 starts in Saint Petersburg

State Hermitage Twenty thousand participants of St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum-2017 have gathered in the North capital of our country. Its central theme is international cooperation. Traditionally main topics of the forum are professional issues of cinema, theatre, circus, animation, libraries and in other fields, TASS informs.

According to Special representative of Russian President on International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy, the forum expands every year. He is sure, that the forum has great significance for national culture, as all new projects begin there, various aspects of international cooperation are discussed as well as the role of Russian culture in the world cultural process.

Two countries – Kazakhstan and Japan gained the status of special guests. They were paid special attention.

The programme includes discussion about influence of sanctions on culture and situation on political agenda and cooperation. Representatives of the British Council, Goethe Institute, cultural centers of Italy, France and other countries are taking part in it.

Meeting of directors of major Russian libraries and colloquium of International Federation of Cinema Media are scheduled for today. The venue of the conference titled Museums and Revolution is State Hermitage.

PeterKIT Student Film Festival coincides with the festival. Organizers received more than three hundred applications from Russian, American, German, Chinese and Korean cinema schools.

Official opening ceremony of the forum is scheduled for November 16.
