russianlook.comRussian travelers are going to reach the North Pole by snowmobiles, according to RIA Novosti.

The expedition is scheduled for the end of this winter; the stat point is the Antarctic Cape. According to the pole explorer Victor Simonov who will head the expedition, they are going to reach the northern top of the planet at the beginning of April in one and a half months. They have to go up to four thousand km, having overcome high ice ridges and fractures.

Travelers will go by snowmobiles made in Canada. Simonov has explained that they are steadier going and two times lighter than the analogous mobiles produced in Russia.

Four people will set off for the journey, including two representatives of defense department and traveler Fedor Konukhov.

It is worth reminding that Konukhov has set many records already. Besides, he is going to bend the globe by oars. According to him, he will need two hundred and twenty two days for this.

He intends to fly around the planet by sailplane and hit the height of fifteen thousand meters. He calculates that non-stop flight around Earth will take him five days.

He plans to reach the bottom of Mariana Trench next year.
