A park in Belgrade is named after Alexandrov Ensemble

Aleksander Saverkin/TASSA park in the central part of Belgrade is named after Alexandrov Ensemble, RIA Novosti reports. Inauguration ceremony took place today, November 10th. Serbian ministers, Russian diplomats and local inhabitants participated in it.

The Park previously called Virgin's Park is located near the residence of the Head of State, City Hall and Russian Center of Science and Culture. The Nikolay II memorial is also installed there.

The head of Alexandrov Ensemble Gennady Sachenok has expressed the to Serbian government and its people. He has also reminded that Serbia has shown lots of attention and support to the ensemble after the tragical air crush in December 2016.

In the frames of the ceremony the memorial plate was inaugurated. Next to it three birch trees were planted a s symbol of strong friendship between Russia and Serbia. The Alexandrov choir has performed several songs.

Let us remember, the Serbian president Vladan Vukosavljevic has initiated to perpetuate Alexandrov Ensemble's memory. His initiative was supported by Serb People's Party.
