09.11.2017

Russian Foreign Ministry press-serviceRussia has great concerns about the research conducted by Pentagon on collecting biological material of Russian nationals, according to official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, TASS informs.

According to her, American military forces have to provide enough evidence that these researches do not contradict the international law. United States Department of Defense should provide trustworthy evidence that the research conducted by American BBC do not infringe the international law, Zakharova claimed. She has underlined that explanations provided by the Military Department of US are very obscure.

It is worth reminding that at the end of October Vladimir Putin has stated that somebody is collecting biomaterial of different ethnic groups living in Russia. Later, the Spokesman for Air Education and Training Command of the United States Beau Downey ha commented that the military department needs genetic materials of Russians to conduct musculoskeletal research.

Russian Foreign Ministry called such actions of US as potentially dangerous for Russian citizens. Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Sergei Ryabkov has noted that Russia has reasons for expressing concern and unacceptance of some US activities in this direction.
