NET International theater festival opens in Moscow

19th NET International theater festival opens in Moscow today. It will last 1,5 months, reports official website of the festival.

The festival was created in the end of 1990 by two theater critics, Marina Davudova and Roman Dolzjansky. According to organizers, NET includes world-renowned as well as theater troupes yet unknown by Russian audience.

Zurich theater company Bernetta Theaterproduktionen will present Project of Unusual Weather Events, a mini-symphony for trombone, trumpet, violin, cassette and light machine. Switzerland is represented by performance Martin Luther Propaganda of Russian director Boris Nikitin.

The National Theatre D. Maria II from Lisbon will bring its performance By Memory. During this improvisational play the director teaches poem to 10 people right on the stage. New Music studio is going to show Red Hood for kids.

Video installation Melting Apocalypse by Russian director of theatre, video, cinema and TV, a theatre educator and theorist Boris Yuhananov and Museum of Alien Intrusion by Theater of Mutual Actions, Series of film screenings dedicated to the last Berlin theater Volksbühne season will fulfill demands of more alternative audience.

For the first time in its history the Off program of the festival will take place in Saint Petersburg.
