100th anniversary of Great October Revolution celebrated in Ho Chi Minh

Ho Chi Minh Pedagogical University conducted celebrations dedicated to 100th anniversary of the Great October Revolution on November 7. The celebrations were prepared by students and teachers of the Russian language department and activists of Russian center and cadets of Military Technical Institute named after Tran Dai Nghia.

Students decorated the corridor in front of the concert hall with old time banners and post cards about the revolution. Vietnamese young ladies cooked Olivier salad and treated guests with black bread and Russian ham before the concert. Guests took pictures at the background of posters and banners, getting acquainted and sharing impressions about the celebrations in Ho Chi Minh such as concerts in the Bolshoi Theatre, on TV and Radio, etc.

Consul General of Russia in Ho Chi Minh S. G. Kozlov, representatives of Russian-Vietnamese Friendship Society, Russian Center director N. B. Zolkina, former university teachers, Russian citizens were honored guests of the event. They congratulated the audience with the anniversary and wished further development and reinforcement of friendly ties between Vietnamese and Russian nations.

Concerts prepared by students and cadets impressed the audience immensely. The performers demonstrated strong command of the Russian language. They sang Russian songs such as And the Battle Goes On, Song about Uneasy Youth, Two Banks, Million of Scarlet Roses, etc. Students were dancing with Russian and Vietnamese state flags demonstrating Vietnamese-Russian friendship. Guests were fascinated by enthusiasm, encouragement, good mood of the performers.
