Russian émigré community film festival presents documentaries from 15 countries

Solzhenitsyn Centre of Russian Emigré StudiesInternational film festival Russkoe Zarubezhye (Russians Abroad) opened in Moscow on November 7th. It's the only cinematic forum devoted to the history of Russian émigré community. The event is organized by Solzhenitsyn Centre of Russian Emigré Studies.

This year the festival is timed with the 100th anniversary of Russian Revolution. The program contains about 50 films from 15 countries, from Austria to Mongolia.

The special festivals program includes events dedicated to famous Russian immigrants' jubilees, such as poet Marina Tsvetaeva, director Andrey Tarkovsky, entrepreneur Sergey Diaghilev. Photography exhibit dedicated to Tarkovsky, presentation of the book on the artist Nikolay Remizov, anniversary celebration of the first VCRcreator Alexander Ponyatov, poetry evening with poet Dmitry Kuznetsov, meetings with “old Russian” émigré community representatives and many other events are going to engage wide audience interested in life and heritage of Russians abroad.
