Russian Foreign Ministry assesses refusal of Austria to issue visas to Crimean journalists as blockade

ussian Foreign MinistryRefusal to issue visas to Crimean journalists by Austrian is nothing but a blockade of Crimea, as per the Russian Foreign Ministry Official Spokesperson Maria Zakharova, TASS informs.

Vienna did not let Crimean mass media representatives come to the session of Organization for Security and Collaboration in Europe about Mass Media Freedom.

Our representatives in this Organization expressed their indignation regarding decision of Austrian authorities to refuse issuing visas to the journalists already registered to this event.

This is not the first case when Crimean journalists are discriminated by the Organization for Security and Collaboration in Europe, despite the freedom of speech is manifested by Europe as one of the basic principles of democracy.

The presentation of Chairman of Sevastopol Union of Journalists Sergey Gorbachev was interrupted at the conference about freedom of mass media this summer. When he was commenting that Ukraine was spreading false news about Crimea, the moderator interrupted his speech.
