Winners of International Contests awarded at Assembly of the Russkiy Mir Foundation

Awarding ceremony for winners of creative contests initiated by the Russkiy Mir Foundation – the World Pushkin, Correspondent of the Russkiy Mir Foundation and Photo competition called My Russian World took place at 11th Assembly of the Russkiy Mir Foundation.

Opening the award ceremony, the Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Education and Science and the Chairman of the Management Board of the Russkiy Mir Foundation Vyacheslav Nikonov has confirmed that it is great pleasure to welcome guests of the Assembly in Nizhny Novgorod, which he represents being a State Duma deputy.

A year ago at the previous Assembly of the Russkiy Mir the international contest World Pushkin was announced. Now the time has come to draw conclusions. Director of the museum-reserve Boldino Nina Zhirkova has shared that more than 5000 works by 800 participants from 30 countries were sent to the contest. This proves that Pushkin is a person of the world significance, she said. Addressing the winners of the contest, Nina Zhirkova has announced that from now on they become members of the Boldino brotherhood, consisting of more than a thousand people among them being poets, writers, artists and other figures of culture. She also promised that the best works would be published in a specialized collection by the birth anniversary of the legendary poet.

World Pushkin contest was arranged in four nominations: prose, poetry, literary criticism and journalism and literary translation. 

Its finalists are sixteen people from Russia, Hungary, Belarus and even Vietnam. The first place in poetry nomination was occupied by Darya Lionenko from Saint Petersburg for her series of poems City Patience, Dmitry Lagutin rom Bryansk took the first place in prose nomination for his short story called A Knitting Needle. Anton Suslikov from Uzlovaya town of Tula region for his work Pushkin? Pushkin… got the first place in literary criticism and journalism nomination. Sergey Krymsky from Moscow took the first place for literary translation of the poem by Pushkin titled Imitating Koran into English.

Announcing the contest results of Correspondent of the Russkiy Mir Foundation contest, the editor-in-chief of TV Radio Company Russkiy Mir Lyubov Kuryanova has noted that this contest triggered off a network of People’s Correspondents all over the world. Diana Tanaka from Japan won the nomination the Best Story about Culture. Victoria Larionova from Novosibirsk became the best in Viewers’ Voting. Vladimir Brazhuk from Moldavia won in nomination The Best Literary Publicist Article. The youngest contest winner was a schoolgirl named Alisiya Burghardt from Germany winning in the nomination The Best Coverage about Family Values and Traditions with her cheerful videos about family holidays.
Editor-in-chief of magazine Russkiy Mir.ru Lada Klokova announced winners of the photography contest My Russian World, which registered about 500 works. Arseniy Semyonov from St. Petersburg and Victor Komissarov from Kaluga won the events’ nomination. Angela Usmanova from Chelyabinsk became the best in nomination faces of the Russian World. Evgeniy Kozhevin got a prize in nomination of memorable places.
