There are no Russian citizens among victims of the terrorist act in New York, TASS informs. According to Russian diplomats, there is no official information on that. The Russian Embassy added that they keep the situation under control.
The day before, the criminal in his truck ran into pedestrians and bicycle riders in the South-West of Manhattan. Police officers wounded him in the leg and later arrested.

Moscow is ready to provide assistance in investigation of the terrorist act. According to the member of the Upper House of the Russian Parliament Konstantin Kosachev, fighting against terror is more important than any disagreements between the countries. He has expressed regrets that American citizens fall victims of threats, which are not imposed as primary to them by their government.

The senator is sure that cooperation of US with those countries imposed like supposed threats could intensify the global security and efficiency of counteraction to terrorist activities in US and other European countries.

As a result of the attack, eight people died and twelve were injured. Five citizens of Argentina and a citizen of Belgium fell victims of this terrorist act.
Local mass media sources report that the attack was committed by single person – a native of Uzbekistan named Sayfullo Saipov. He moved to US seven years ago and lived in Florida. Later it was found out that the criminal had a note on him, where he stated that he acted for the sake of the Islamic State terrorist grouping.
