Russia and Britain plan cross year of music in 2019

pixabay.comNext Russian-British cross year will be dedicated to music. It ios planned to conduct it in 2019, TASS reports. The issue was discussed during the meeting of British Counsil head Sir Kiran Devan and special representative of Russian president Mikhail Shvydkoy.

British Counsil advised that all the events dedicated to English music should be conducted not only in Russian capital but also in other cities of our country. This action aims to attract attention of wider audience and crteate contacts not only on governmental but also on personal level.

Sir Kiran Devan expressed the hope that in return Russia will organize events in Scottish and Irish cities, as well as other British regions.

Also in the course of the meeting the feasibility of joint activities devoted to 75th anniversary of the WW2 in 2020 was discussed.

Let us remind, 2017 was announced the UK-Russia Year of Science and Education, and 2016 has been UK-Russia bilateral year of literature.
