Russian helicopter crashed over the North Sea

pixabay.comRussian helicopter crashed in the North Sea near archipelagos Spitsbergen, RIA Novosti informs. As per the rescue service, there were eight people on board. The accident happened within several km from Barentsburg village.

Presumably, the helicopter was making a flight from Russian village Piramida to Barentsburg. It was detected by radars before half past three in the evening local time or 16:35 Moscow time and then was gone.

Local mass media advise that two rescue vessels and a helicopter were sent to the supposed accident site.

Spitsbergen is administratively a part of Norway with a special legal status. Russian village Barentsburg is a Russian village populated by mineworkers mostly.
