Influence of Revolution 1917 on literature as main topic of conference in Paris

 bfro.beThe First World War and Russian Revolution of 1917 in Russian and French Literature International conference began in Paris. It is organized in Russian Orthodox Spiritual and Cultural Center at Branley quay, RIA Novosti informs.

The scientific forum is timed with 100th anniversary of the Great October Revolution. It is included into the commemorative activities dedicated to this historical date.

Among the conference participants are French, British, Italian and Russian scientists, historians and theorists of literature. They prepared presentations about life and creative career of poets and writers of the beginning of the 20th century including Vyacheslav Ivanov, Andrey Bely, Alexander Blok, Maximilian Voloshin and others.

Gorky Institute of World Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences with support of Russian Ministry of Culture, Russian Foundation of Fundamental Research and Russian Scientific Foundation organized the event.
It is worth reminding that exposition titled And 1917 is Turning into Revolution was opened in the Hotel des Invalides in Paris several days ago. Contemporary International Documentation Library (BDIC) initiated and organized this exhibition.

Dozens of different banners, newspaper articles and other archived documents from the library are exhibited here. A separate stand is dedicated to Russian Expeditionary Force who saved Paris from German fascist troops during World War I.
