Festival of Roerichs held in Kulu valley, the Himalayas

A range of various activities took place as a part of India-Russia-Roerichs large-scale annual festival in the Indian valley of Kulu, according to TASS. The festival is timed with 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the countries as well as with 25th jubilee of foundation of International Roerich Memorial Trust. It is held in Naggara in the house museum of the great artist and philosopher.

Senior Counsellor at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in New Delhi Sergey Karmalito, representatives of local administration, supervisors of International Roerich Memorial Trust were present. Addressing the audience the representative of our diplomatic mission has noted that house museum of Roerichs has turned into one of the brightest sights in India over the last years. Sergey Karmalito has stated that followers of Roerich’s philosophical teaching as well as admirers of his artistic heritage ae trying to get to Naggara. The diplomat has complemented the work of International Roerich Memorial Trust stating that the Roerich Trust is one of the most important projects of Russian-Indian humanitarian collaboration.

Afterwards, the honored guests looked around the exhibition of paintings under title The Roerich Family – a bridge between Russian and Indian Peoples. Besides, the house museum hosted a photo exhibition devoted to the activity of Roerich Trust.

Supervisor of International Roerich Memorial Trust Larisa Surgina advised the audience that they managed to recreate the atmosphere of the office and chemical laboratory of Roerich where tools and devices used by family members were gathered.
