Golden Mask Festival to take place in Latvia

As per the organizers, more than one hundred demonstrations of sixty-two performances took place in Riga in these years. Master-classes conducted by famous theatre figures and various charity campaigns are conducted as a part of the festival.

According to the head of the Russian diplomacy mission Evgeny Lukyanov, The Golden Mask will appear in the center of the cultural life of Riga and the other two major cities of the Baltic Republic – Liepaja and Ventspils. The diplomat is sure that the interest of the republic to the festival is on the top level as well as the interest of specialists and actors of this festival.

He has underlined that Russian culture in Latvia is acknowledged by everybody. Two countries have been enriching each other for many years and this process did not stop, which is more important than some instant circumstances.

Riga will witness Ivanov after A. Chekhov staged by National Theatre. The artistic director of the theatre troupe and an actor of the key role Evgeny Mironov has explained that he shows all his new works in Riga and this is not an exception. The stage producer is Timofey Kulyabin. Elizaveta Boyarskaya, Chulpan Khamatova, Igor Gordin, Victor Verzhbitsky will perform in tandem with Evgeny Mironov.
