Russian Embassy in UK comments on May’s statement about Russia's aggression

02.10.2017

Russian Foreign MinistryRussian Foreign Ministry in UK has strongly criticized British Prime Minister Theresa May’s statement about ongoing Russia’s aggression which threatens the Baltic States and Poland, RIA Novosti informs. The Foreign Ministry called these statements intolerable especially in the context of Great Britain’s readiness to build up constructive relations with Russia.

Embassy’s Press Secretary has underlined that Theresa May's statement about aggression of Russia sounded at military base in Estonia where British armed forces are deployed. The Embassy has commented that Russia has not accommodated its troops anywhere near UK’s borders.

This is not the first statement of this kind, made by the western politicians and NATO members. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stressed that NATO realizes that Russia has never planned to attack the Baltic States and uses any contrived pretexts to deploy more and more soldiers and military equipment close to Russia’s borders.
