Russian language teachers in Canada learn new methods

pixabay.comRussian language teachers from Canada took part in the pedagogical conference, website of Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots Organization reports. It worked right in two cities – Ottawa and Montreal. Around fifty people participated in the conference conducted for the fourth time.

Training courses were organized as a part of the conference. Teachers got certificates of the Russian state pattern at the end of these courses.

Teachers from educational institutions in Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia and Manitoba discussed many critical questions of teaching Russian language. One of the main discussion topics was work with bilingual children. Besides, they focused on modern working methods with children from initial grades.

These training courses were taught by specialists from two leading Russian universities: People’s Friendship University of Russia and Moscow State Pedagogical University.

According to the director of Rodnik cultural educational center Natalia Tarushkina in Ottawa, local population more and more often begins studying Russian language as well as the natives of ex-Soviet Union. In particular, many children from bilingual families came to Rodnik center this year.

Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots Organizations in Canada with participation of Russian school of St. Cyril and Methodius organized the forum this year.
