Russia and Brazil have signed an agreement on cultural centers opening

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of RussiaHeads of Russia and Brazil Foreign ministers have signed an agreement on cultural centers' opening, TASS reports.

Sergey Lavrov and Aloysio Nunes expressed the hope that current agreement will strengthen strategic partnership. They confirmed “firm intention to develop further Russian-Brazilian relations.” Solemn ceremony of signing up the document took place ahead of the bilateral meeting at the 72d Session of the UN General Assembly.

Talking about future humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, Vladimir Putin proposed to expand this cooperation in the fields of tourism and education, marking that about to open Russian Center of Science and Culture in San Paolo would help promoting Russian language in Brazil.

It is remarkable, that soccer players and coaching staff of Brazil's national team have started learning Russian. By 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia in summer they hope to know not just basic words of welcome, but also some facts about Russian history and culture.

It's worth mentioning that Russian language department in The University of São Paulo exists since 1960s.
