Kaliningrad will promote amber tourism

According to regional authorities, the region has all chances for successful promotion of this type of tourism. A particular strategy has been developed for this purpose until 2025. Authors of the strategy note that Russia is quite behind other countries in this aspect. Our country does not use cultural significance of the amber in full to promote products of its processing which could increase visibility of the region as the amber production and processing center for tourists.

Saint Petersburg could become a partner of the region. Such unique objects as renovated amber chamber of Prussian king Friedrich the First sold to Peter the Great are located in Saint Petersburg.

The amber tourism development analysis proved absence of amber promotion system as a cultural and historical phenomenon. Besides, there is no branding strategy directed at creation of amber preferences of consumers on locally produced amber products.

Among main problems are low attractiveness of customized exhibition fairs arranged in Kaliningrad region for foreigners.
