Vladimir Putin takes part in BRICS summit

Summit of BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) has started today, September 4, in China, RIA Novosti reports. Leaders of the countries with Russian President among them gathered in Xiamen city at the South of the country at the bank of the Taiwan Strait.

The main questions on the agenda of the international forum are situation in the world’s economics, global economic management, international and regional conflicts, national security and development.

China is chairing BRICS Summit this year; it defined objectives of the summit as follows: strengthening of mutually beneficial and broad partnership for the sake of sustaining peace and stability, advance of overall development and improvement of global management system.

It is worth reminding that prior to the summit, Russian president Vladimir Putin held a meeting with President of People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping. They discussed implementation of agreements reached between Russian Federation and People’s Republic of China earlier.

Russian president thanked his Chinese colleague for his readiness to meet and discuss implementation of plans defined in the course of the visit of Xi Jinping to Moscow. President of People’s Republic of China has made a claim that two countries’ governments have already started to implement the reached agreements and the results of work of Russian and Chinese Ministries promise well.
