UN Security Council refused to condemn terrorists

04.08.2017

pixabay.comUN Security Council refused to issue a media statement that condemns terrorist attacks that shelled the Russian Embassy in Damascus recently. “We regret to say that some members of the Security Council have again refused to consider the Russian draft under a far-fetched pretext of the lack of evidence on the terrorist nature of the attacks,” Russian mission in Syria has commented.

Let us remember, Russian embassy in Syria was shelled from position of terrorist gangs. As Russian MFA has stated only due to a lucky chance nobody was injured. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation has strongly condemned terrorist attack against Russian diplomatic mission in Damascus.

It’s worth mentioning that this is not the first time UN Security Council refuses to issue a press statement about a terrorist attack on Russian mission in Syria. The reason EU Counsil failed to issue a media statement is because some members voted down the text suggested by Moscow. Russian diplomats have chosen not to name countries that didn't let to adopt the statement. Russian permanent mission has expressed regret that the will to fight terrorism expressed by these countries just in words. In fact, they try to cover those whom they might need in the future to sort out things in Syria.
