Bolshoi Theater Ballet company has fascinated the audience at the 22nd Lincoln Center festival. “It is amazing! Russians are the best!” people were talking among themselves. Mahar Vaziev, the ballet director at the Bolshoi Theatre, was very excited to overhear these comments.

Bolshoi Theater, Paris opera and New York City Ballet have prepared staging of George Balanchine's Jewels to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this unique ballet. Three movements of the ballet are called Emeralds, Rubies and Diamonds.

The legend says that each part is related to a different periods of the choreographer's life. Three movements feature music of three different composers: Gabriel Fauré, Igor Stravinsky and Pyotr Tchaikovsky accordingly. The last act with Tchaikovsky’s music from the 3d Symphony was beautifully staged by Russian ballet.
