Collectioner acquired Gagarin's document about his space flight at Sotheby's

Gagarin record file went under the hammer on Sotheby's auction yesterday, TASS reports. The piece of history was acquired for 47,5 thousand dollars.

The first document of Gagarin’s flight and his description of the Earth are written in English and printed on the Chkalov Central Air Force club form. It is an official paper with the first Space record registration. The photograph of the first man in cosmos dressed in space suit is attached to the document. The paper has been prepared to send to International Aeronautical Federation.

In addition, the liquid rocket engine V-751 development of the Soviet rocket engineer Alexey Isaev was sold for over 20 thousand dollars, and a full-scale model of the first Soviet artificial Earth satellite, launched in 1957 went under the hammer for 18,5 thousand dollars. Full-size models of the First Soviet Satellite Vostok-1 spaceship was estimated a bit under 18 thousand bucks. The fantasy artwork Satellite Flight by Andrey Smirnov was acquired for almost 5 thousand dollars.
