Presidential Administration of Russia
Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump held a much anticipated meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Hamburg. Presidents of Russia and the United States have met face-to-face for the first time. It’s worth mentioning that Vladimir Putin was accompanied by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, while Donald Trump was joined by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

At the beginning of the talks the Russian President have noted that he is very glad to meet with his US counterpart. Russian President has expressed the hope that this meeting will yield positive results. Putin has recalled that they have spoken over the phone several times on very important bilateral and international issues. "But phone conversations are never enough," Putin added.

“I am very glad to meet with you,” the 45th American president said. He has added that this meeting will bring many positive aspects to relations between Russia and United States.

Both leaders have preferred not to answer reporters’ questions despite the obvious hype created by journalists.
