Putin arrives at G20 Summit

Presidential Administration of RussiaVladimir Putin has arrived to Hamburg, where G20 Summit starts today, TASS reports. Russian President is to conduct more than 10 meetings on the sidelines of the central forum for international cooperation on financial and economic questions that is conducted on 7 and 8 July.

Informal BRICS members meeting will take place before the summit starts. 

The historical meeting is scheduled for today: Vladimir Putin will meet U.S. President Donald Trump for the first time. The most serious expectations are related to Russian and US leaders meeting that might possibly affect the relationship between Washington and Moscow as well the international arena situation. Putin and Trump are to discuss international terrorism, alarming situations in Syria and Ukraine. It is also expected that Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov is to meet with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

Friday schedule of the Russian President also includes talks with South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe.

Aside of participating in official G20 sessions, Vladimir Putin is to meet his French, Turkish colleagues, and the head of EU Commission. Short stand-up meetings are expected with Australian, Mexican, and South African leaders. 

It is planned that Vladimir Putin and the Turkey's president Recep Tayyip Erdogan will make an attempt on addressing the Syrian conflict, while Korean Peninsula situation and a peace treaty issues will be discussed with the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
