Loveless by Andrey Zvyagintsev has received the top prize at the 35th Munich Film Festival, RIA Novosti reports.

Producers Alexander Rodnyansky and Serguey Melkumov accepted the award in Munich from the hands of the international jury. Alexander Rodnyansky has expressed satisfaction at the fact that Loveless was granted with such an important award. The film tells the story of the family that goes through the relationship crisis. It touches on issues anybody could relate to, regardless of the nationality and culture.

The director himself has stated that continuous debates in social networks indicate that his film works.

This is the second time Zvyagintsev received the Munich award after his Leviathan had won the ARRI/OSRAM competition in 2014. Let us remember that Loveless has also won the jury prize at Cannes film festival.
