Russian and French authorities have discussed the possibility of announcing 2018 the Cross Year of French and Russian language and literature, Year of Literature portal reports.

Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov has discussed this prospect with his colleague, French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian. This issue is to be discussed by Specialized ministries of both countries.

Despite the sanctions that have been adopted against Russia by a number of European countries including France, successful cooperation between two countries remains the same. Moreover, some French colleges have posted Russian teacher job openings recently.
