Vladimir Putin thanked Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev

Presidential Administration of RussiaRussian president has expressed gratitude to the Kyrgyzstan president Almazbek Atambayev for supporting Russian language in Republic, RIA Novosti reports.

Almazbek Atambayev is about to finish his presidential term. “I would like to thank Almazbek for an important contribution in Kyrgyzstan–Russia relations, and all his effort to support Russian language in Kyrgyzstan. We are highly appreciative of this,” Vladimir Putin has noted.

Vladimir Putin has underlined that Russia is happy to continue long term bilateral cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.

Let us remind that Russian language is in high demand in Kyrgyzstan, it can be heard throughout the country. This republic is among the States where Russian is the second mother tongue. Russian language centres are very popular there as well.

It’s worth mentioning that last summer Almazbek Atambayev has released five guitar ballads in Russian, backed up by professionally produced music videos.
