Lomonosov Research and Education Centre opens in Havana

Lomonosov Research and Education Centre opens at the capital of Cuba. The oldest and the most prestigious Russian university will open its Centre at the premises of University of Havana, TASS reports.

The day before the Moscow State University Rector Viktor Sadovnichy and Havana University Rector Dr.Gustavo José Cobreiro Suárez have signed the agreement.
It happened as a part of 3d Forum of Russian and Havanian Universities, that took place in Havana on Tuesday, May 23d. There were also other Russian institutions who signed agreements with Cuba colleges and universities.

It is planned that Lomonosov Research and Education Centre will coordinate scholarly interaction in Chemistry, Geography, Philology, History and other fields, including scientific and academic ones. Several exchange programms are also on the agenda.

According to Mr Sadovnichy, the signed document has to be realized immediately without procrastination. He has mentioned that after the Lomonosov Centre is established the MSU branch opening might be discussued as well. He has reminded that there are more than 10 Lomonosov Research and Education Centres all over the world, including China and Iran.

There were 8 agreements signed between MSU and 8 Cuban universitiers during the 3d Forum of Russian and Havanian Universities.

As we have mentioned before, The Pushkin State Russian Language Institute opened its department at the premises of University of Havana just recently.
