Maria Sharapova wasn't admitted to Rolland​ Garros

Famous tennis player Maria Sharapova was denied the wild card, therefore she will not participate in French Open, RIA Novosti informs.

French Tennis Federation president Bernard Giudicelli. "While there can be a wild card for return from injury, there can't be a wild card for return from doping," Giudicelli commented.

Let us remind you that the period of ineligibility for the five-times tournament champion for meldonium use had finished on April, 26. Maria asked several tournament organizers if she could continue to play and some of them agreed. So far she reached semi-finals in Stuttgart.

Second Roland Garros season will open in Paris on May 28. Sharapova won two times in this prestigious tournament in 2012 and 2014.
